Time & Location
About the Event
Participants will receive 1.5 PFAC CE credits for this course. A significant challenge for our aging population is the onset of Dementia. This condition has wide ranging implications for the client, their loved ones and those who are tasked to oversee their needs, such as Fiduciaries. From the effects on ability for selfcare to managing finances, to decision making and safety, the Fiduciary needs to understand the basics of Dementia, particularly the most common type, Alzheimer’s Disease. Through this understanding the Fiduciary will be able to better interact with the client, anticipate needs both now and in the future as decline occurs and find resources/set up supports that will help provide for the client over time. This one (1) hour course will focus on understanding what normal aging versus disease process is as related to the brain and cognition, defining what Dementia Is and what it ISN’T, explaining the various types of Dementia, along with a more in-depth look at the most prevalent type, Alzheimer’s Disease. Implications of having a client with Dementia will be presented.
